My son wanted dessert and I didn’t really have anything specifically in the dessert category to give him. Apples and peanut butter make a great snack that is healthy and simple, so now I need to turn it into a dessert. To make it feel like a dessert, I took it one step farther and added some chocolate chips on top. I figured adding some chocolate chips would make this simple apple and peanut butter snack look and taste like a dessert. Now I have apples and peanut butter with chocolate chips.
It worked. He loved it! I made one for myself because it was like having a Reeses Peanut Butter cup with an apple. How could you go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter?

- gluten free dairy free chocolate chips
The first thing I did was take the peanut butter, put it on the plate, and shape it into a dome. Next, I poured some chocolate chips on top of the peanut butter. Last, I cut my apple into slices and arrange them around the plate so it looks like a flower.
The dessert above is incredibly simple and there is no cooking involved. Other recipes may require more skill, but if you follow the steps they are easy. I have taken many dessert recipes and converted them into a gluten free dairy free version. The key to any recipe is seasoning to enhance the flavor of your food and dessert is no different. Since gluten free and dairy free products can be bland you need to make sure you add enough flavor to make them taste edible.
