There is nothing better then a cup of homemade hot chocolate on a cold winter day or any day for that matter. You’ll fall in love with this rich, creamy cup of cocoa bursting with chocolate flavor!
Can you smell the chocolate morsels melting into the hot milk, cocoa, and sugar mixture? When that smell wafts through the house everyone will come running.
You will never want to make a packet of hot chocolate again when you see how easy it is to make it from scratch?
INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 cup unsweetened Cocoa
- 1/2 cup sugar
- dash of salt
- 4 cups almond milk
- 3/4 teaspoon gluten free vanilla
- 1/4 cup gluten free dairy free chocolate chips
- handful of gluten free marshmallows (jetpuffed)
- gluten free dairy free whipped cream
Put cocoa, sugar, and salt into a pot and mix it up. Pour in 1 cup of milk and stir with a whisk so you get rid of lumps. Start cooking over a medium heat. Add the rest of the milk, vanilla and the chocolate chips and continue cooking until the chips are melted and the milk is hot.
Now take a big whiff of that heavenly chocolate smell that you are about to indulge in. You’re going to love it!
Pour the hot chocolate into cups and add a layer of marshmallows. I found this adorable vanilla flavored marshmallows shaped like snowman.
Now add heaping amount of whipped cream to top of the marshmallows. Wait, we are not done yet!
Most of the time I sprinkle some extra chocolate chips on top or drizzle melted chocolate over it. Both kids and adults will love this hot chocolate.
On that note I need to go make myself a cup of loaded hot chocolate.
