I found these adorable little candy wrappers in the store and knew I had to make some homemade chocolates for my son. I put nuts in mine, but there are various additions you can chose from. For example, you can add coconut, rice cereal, nuts, peanut butter, etc.
INGREDIENTS – makes 9 homemade chocolate candies
- 1/2 cup gluten free dairy free semi sweet chocolate (enjoy life foods)
- 2 – 3 tablespoons gluten free almond milk
- 1/4 cup gluten free almonds
- 1/4 cup gluten free pecans
- small candy wrappers
I am going to show you just how easy it is to make your own homemade chocolates.
Gather all the ingredients and a tray to put the chocolates on. Spread out the candy wrappers on the tray. Chop the nuts into smaller pieces to put in the center of the chocolate cup. Cut some of the nuts finer to sprinkle over the top of the homemade chocolates.
In a glass measuring cup add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips and 3 tablespoons of almond milk. Heat at 30 second intervals, stirring after each until melted. If the chocolate is not smooth enough, then add more milk.
Drizzle about 1 teaspoon of melted chocolate into each candy wrapper and then spread it up the side of the cup to coat. Add the nuts or other filling into each chocolate. Cover with more chocolate to fill the candy wrapper to the top. Sprinkle the finely chopped nuts over the top.
Place the homemade chocolates in the freezer for about 30 minutes. If you have time you can put the candies in the refrigerator, it will just take longer for them to get solid.
Your kids will not be disappointed. These little homemade chocolates are smooth and creamy. Put a smile on someone’s face with these gluten and dairy free chocolates.
