Honey Lime Shrimp has such a beautifully light flavor, you cant help but want more. The honey gives this dish a sweet note while the citrus lends a refreshing flavor.
I never cooked with lime, until I discovered the amazing flavor it contributes to a meal. This mixture would also make a fantastic marinade. Marinating your protein creates a deeper flavor. The acid in the lime helps to break down the raw meat, creating a more tender bite.
You could also replace the shrimp with chicken or another protein.
When mixing honey and lime juice, you’re not only getting delicious flavor, you’re getting some health benefits as well. What more could you ask for? You receive two benefits from one meal. Delicious and healthy!

Get all your ingredients together and chopped before you turn on the pan. This recipe comes together quickly.
Put the water for the stir fry noodles going and follow the package directions for cooking instructions. If you do not want noodles, you can use rice.
Mince your garlic and let it sit for 10 minutes away from the heat. Add the honey and lime in a measuring cup and whisk together to combine.
TIP: If you crush or mince your garlic and let it sit for 10 minutes it releases allicin. Allicin is a protein in garlic which is high in antioxidants. It is a powerful antimicrobial, antiviral and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Heat a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the olive oil and margarine to and let it melt. Put in the garlic and cook about 1 minute. Season the shrimp with a little salt and pepper. Add the shrimp and cook for 1 1/2 minutes. Flip the shrimp and pour in the honey lime mixture. Cook an additional 2 minutes.
Remove the Honey Lime Shrimp from the heat. Plate immediately as the shrimp will continue to cook. Add the lime zest over the top of your dish and it is ready to eat. Lime zest adds color, but more importantly it adds additional flavor.
